Monty Pooley was appointed Chief Executive Officer and President of JTM Foods LLC in July 2017.
Prior to JTM Monty was Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Private Equity owned Shearer’s Snacks in Massillon Ohio from 2012 through 2017. He co-invested in Shearer’s after serving 8 years at Sara Lee Corporation, the last 5 as President and Chief Marketing Officer for Sara Lee’s North American Retail and Food Service businesses from 2007 to 2012. He joined Sara Lee as Chief Customer Officer in July of 2004.
Pooley was introduced to Consumer-Packaged Goods in 1984 with Procter & Gamble and grew his career in Sales and Sales marketing roles through 1999 when he joined internet grocer WebVan as Vice president and General Manager through 2001. Monty and his family moved to Pittsburgh in 2001 when he joined HJ Heinz as Vice President of Frozen Foods and Customer Teams through June of 2004.
Monty and his wife Kate met at Hamilton College where he graduated with honors in 1984; they have been married for 31 years and have 3 children. Monty has served as a member of the Hamilton College Board of Trustees since 2013 where he led the College’s Annual fund from 2011 through 2014. He is also a member of the Nichols School Board of Trustees in Buffalo, New York co-chairing the school’s Annual Fund since 2019. Pooley is a Senior Executive Advisor for New York City based Argand Capital, serves on the Advisory Board of Tecum Capital in Pittsburgh PA, is a member of the Gilman Cheese Corporation Board in Gilman Wisconsin and is a Baldrige Executive Fellow.
